Itinerary:
WINDSOR CASTLE - A Royal residence since William the Conqueror in the 11th Century and where the present Royal Family still resides. We have a guided tour of the castle precincts which includes the Horseshoe Cloister and Henry VIII's Gateway. We visit ST.GEORGES CHAPEL of the Knights of the Garter fame, followed by the STATE APARTMENTS* which consist of fine tapestries, and masterpieces by Rubens and Van Dyck. After the visit we rejoin our coach for the drive to Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed by King John in 1215.
STONEHENGE - where there is over 4,000 years of history since these massive monolithic stones were brought to this ancient religious site. We can breathe in the atmosphere and wonder at the reason behind their formation.
OXFORD - We journey to Oxford, 'City of Dreaming Spires'. Our tour takes us through some of the university buildings where your guide will tell you of famous past students and age old traditions of college life that endure to this day.
